Post-Spray Treatment

If the surface has to meet special requirements that the untreated spray layer is not capable of, post-spray treatment is essential.

This is generally accomplished by the following finishing steps:                     

  • Impregnating/sealing
  • Brushing
  • Honing
  • Grinding
  • Polishing
  • Lapping
  • Smoothing
  • etc.

Which of these finishing steps are used depends on the desired surface properties. However, the roughness achievable also depends to a great extent on the coating material and coating system.
